1/8/2024 0 Comments Kindle previewer 3 not opening![]() ![]() The forum posting glitch (sometimes it adds a second blank line) still happens here and there. Perhaps the two reboots that occured since the update cleared the glitch (my computer shuts down after an hour of nonuse - then sort of reboots when I switch it back on again the next day to write / check email etc.). I'm no computer geek, but my guess is something in the update messed it up, and then fixed itself. Kindle Previewer started working in Win10 2016 mode, instead of the XP mode I was able to coax it to do when the glitch happened. May have to resort to reloading the Previewer if this old one I've got decides to stop working.Ī strange thing happened the second day after the Previewer glitch. I have DLed the latest version off Amazon to my desktop. And right now - fingers crossed - the Kindle Previewer works. As there was no option for Win10 listed (just Win8, Win7, Vista, and I think XP), I said "I don't Know" which OS I was using, and it chose XP compatibility for some reason. I had to right click on the file icon as it was found in File Explorer (I ignored the shortcut in the start menu, although this could possibly work by right clicking on the start menu Previewer icon), and sort of tell the computer to open it in a previous OS version. I think the upgrade did something that changed settings, or it changed how the Previewer would work with the upgraded Win10 system.īut, just in case any others have encountered this issue, by accident I managed to get it to work. I still have no idea why a program that worked fine on Windows 10 for over two years (when I loaded it onto this laptop from Amazon) decided to unwork. The on-computer "Troubleshooter", of course, is useless.Īny on else with a Win10 PC encounter this problem? And now, Kindle Previewer, which worked perfectly for two years since I installed it on my laptop, won't launch. Periodically it updates, and for the past year or so, I haven't seen any glitches.īut this last upgrade has caused some definite issues.įirst, there was an issue posting on some forums (which partially cleared up - probably "improvements" to the Edge browser) then I noticed IE disappeared (had to search for it using File Explorer). Like some PC and laptop owners, I have Windows 10 on mine and so far it's been OK to use. ![]()
